I am an accommodation assistant based in The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

What was your background before you worked at The Lodge at Ashford?

I was local to The Lodge; I worked in Lydon’s restaurant in Cong village.

What was your first experience of the Lodge at Ashford?

The entire team was incredibly friendly and helped to make me feel very welcome.

Tell me something about the Lodge that people might not know.

It used to be called Lisloughrey Lodge before The Red Carnation Hotel Collection purchased it.

What makes the Lodge special?

The beautiful views over Lough Corrib are indescribable and makes dining in The Quay Bar and Brasserie very special. 

What does your typical day at the Lodge look like for you?

It is always busy. We start by getting our daily duties and service each room assigned to us in accordance to our standards. This organisation helps us maintain our exceptional standards.

What is your favourite part of your role?

Cleaning the rooms to the four-star standard for the guests and ensuring their stays are truly luxurious.

What do you do to relax when you are not working?

I like to go walking, shopping and watching television!

What three words would you use to describe the Lodge?

Friendly, homely, and unique.

What is your proudest achievement of your time at the Lodge?

Winning an Employee of the Month award was particularly special.
