The Décor

For weddings taking place during the Christmas season, the bridal couple can expect the hotel to be dressed for the occasion. Christmas trees are beautifully decorated with crystal ornaments and pretty festive garlands perfume the space with fresh cinnamon and candied oranges. Furthermore, the Lodge has three open fires which create an instantly cosy atmosphere on a chilly winter’s night are only accentuated by the gentle piano music and dancing candlelight.

The Food

Every guest that visits The Lodge during the winter months is greeted with a welcoming hot winter drink, such as a hot chocolate, hot apple cider or mulled wine as well as a tasty Christmas treat. The same service, of course, extends to all wedding guests, too, allowing them to experience for themselves The Lodge’s charming festive touches. The hotel’s chef, Jonathan Keane, is on hand to create delicious seasonal menus and will produce everything from the canapés served on arrival to a lavish evening buffet. Our kitchen at The Lodge is a real champion of locally-sourced ingredients, seeking out the freshest vegetables and meet to the most-beautifully prepared products from local artisan suppliers, including Kate McCormack’s pâté and Johnny King’s crabmeat cocktail. The next morning a hearty full Irish breakfast is just the thing to revive any partied-out wedding goers.

The Atmosphere

Embracing seasonal cheer, each of The Lodge’s beautiful trees is covered in thousands of tiny LED lights at Christmas time, providing an amazing atmosphere and an incredible photographic opportunity for the wedding party. Calm any pre-wedding nerves or blow away the cobwebs with a stroll around the stunning Ashford estate, located on the doorstep of the hotel. Last-minute wedding beauty prep can be done in the Lodge’s Beauty Room, where highly experienced beauty therapist Debbie offers an excellent range of facials, manicures and tanning alongside bridal makeup.

The Details
